Myra Bellvue Provincial Park with 100 kms of trails for hikers, bicycles and horses.

Deadwood
Teddy Bear Junction, in Myra Bellevue Park, is a 2.77km gradual moderate incline hike on a double track hard packed dirt trail from the park entrance at the top of East Stewart Road in East Kelowna, BC.

Walking through the forest nearest the park boundaries, the scenery changes as people enter the burned area affected by the fire of 2003. The new growth of green conifers are like a bright carpet at the base of blackened spires of dead trees which lean precariously, awaiting the next strong wind to knock them down. Thanks to the efforts of the Friends of the South Slopes for keeping the trails open or it would be a tangled impenetrable wood pile.
Hikers, horse-back riders and mountain bikers alike have been leaving all versions of stuffed critters at the junction of the common trail called Lost Lake trail and Flamingo Flats trail.

Some of the stuffies are looking thin. Teddy Bear Junction is starting to look a little like Teddy Bear Cemetary. Maybe I should bring up a garbage bag and pack out a few of the lost souls for a decent burial. Is there a teddy bear heaven?
Now that was worth the search Susan! I used to live on Latka Road in rural Rutland. Although it was many moons ago, I did love going hiking and exploring the backwoods. I didn’t realize how much damage was incurred during the fire. Terrible loss, to say the least, but the growth is coming back, thankfully. It must have been the teddy bears! Thanks for sharing!
Liz it seems I didn’t reply to your kind comment – thank you for visiting!
‘Tis a cool place Jenrad
wow! how interesting!!
I think teddy’s represent comfort, security, and love. So yes, I think there will be a lot of that in Heaven. In fact, there is a lot of this love right here right now 🙂
I like your use of images in this post sue. I love how you can capture things and see things that sometimes others would miss.
Hey Lisa, thanks for visiting!
Nah, ur gonna be one of the Teddys George. Lots of snuggling. Whatever makes ur heart sing. Remember, its Heaven.
If there are not Teddys in heaven I am not going how will I ever sleep without a Teddy to snuggle, but on then again with my ways I might not be welcome there in any case.
